Bellevue, WA 98005URGENT ACTION: TELL GOV. SCHWARZENEGGER TO VETO A.B. 821
For Immediate Release: September 7, 2007
California gun owners should immediately call Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s office and urge him to veto Assembly Bill 821, which would ban the use of lead in ammunition in areas identified as California condor habitat. The bill has been sent to the governor after amendments were approved by the Assembly earlier this week.
If signed, this legislation could literally ban hunting and recreational shooting in large areas of the state.
Likewise, gun owners should also respectfully urge Gov. Schwarzenegger to veto Assembly Bill 1471, the so-called “Micro-stamping” bill. This legislation would require handguns sold after a certain date in California to be microstamped with identifying information so that this micro-stamp is transferred to the surface of a cartridge case when it is fired.
To contact Gov. Schwarzenegger, call (916) 445-2841, or fax him a message at (916) 445-4633. You may also reach his office via e-mail at: http://gov.ca.gov/interact#email.
