Many state legislatures have adjourned for the rest of the year. Some states, such as Maryland, passed new restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. In others, most notably Colorado, new gun controls were effectively blocked.

The state legislators we elect this year will perform a crucial task next year: congressional redistricting. Congressional seats may be won or lost simply on how district lines are drawn. It is critical that we send pro-gun legislators to our state capitols to do their part in keeping congressional seats in the hands of those who would protect our rights at the federal level.

If your state legislator(s) support gun owner rights, please volunteer to help them get reelected. November isn’t that far away, and some may face similar primary fights. Volunteers make a major difference in the success – or failure – of an election campaign, especially at the local level.
