NEVADA MEMBERS SHOULD CONTACT ASSEMBLY ABOUT TWO SENATE BILLS

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015

BELLEVUE, WA – Nevada gun owners are urged to contact members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee about SB175, which is strongly supported by the Nevada Firearms Coalition, because it would eliminate various local laws that conflict with the statewide preemption law enacted in 1989.

Many of those laws were allowed to remain in effect after preemption was passed.

In addition, this measure also clarifies the Castle Doctrine, expands concealed carry reciprocity and would eliminate handgun registration (blue card) in Clark County, according to the Coalition.

A hearing on this measure is scheduled at 8 a.m. Thursday before the Assembly Judiciary Committee. Click here to send a message to the committee.

Also on Thursday, the Assembly Transportation Committee will hold a hearing on SB 229, which authorizes the creation of a Second Amendment license plate in Nevada. Funds from this program would be used to further the Coalition’s education and training programs.

The Transportation Committee hearing will commence at 3:15 p.m. Click here to send a message to the committee.
